4 Tips When Moving to a New City

So in the 12 years I have been in the Utah real estate business there are a lot of important things I have learned. One of the most important is to know as much as you can about the city you are thinking of moving to. Here are 4 things that will help in your decision making.

1. Crime

Check the crime index.  That is the first thing I check.  I personally want to live where the crime index is low.

2. Schools

Public and private schools in the area where I am searching for a home.  Everyone should want their children to go to the best schools available.

3. Work Commute

For me as the bread winner in the family, I definitely want to know how long of a commute I will have each day to and from work.

4. Demographics

Important to my wife is age demographics.  She wants to live where our children will have friends to make and play with.  Being a Family man, it is important to me that we live in a family oriented community.

All of these things can change very much from city to city. One city that I have found that has good ratings in all these categories is Saratoga Springs, Utah.
